The complete guide for every role, as a Word document you can keep, print or share.
Download the User Guide (Word)
EveryoneSign in for the first time
  1. On a desktop or tablet, open a browser and go to the host machine's fixed address (not “localhost”, which only works on the host itself).
  2. Enter the username and starting password your Admin gave you.
  3. Choose your site.
  4. You land on the single screen built for your role. There is no menu to hunt through.

Good to know: Screens update live within a second or two, so you never need to refresh.

User Guide: 4.1 Signing in →
EveryoneInstall TASc6 on the host machine
  1. Download the Multi Site or Single Site installer. If Edge or Chrome warns the file isn't commonly downloaded, choose Keep.
  2. Double-click it. At “Windows protected your PC” click More info, then Run anyway.
  3. If Defender quarantines it, restore it from Protection history, or add an exclusion.
  4. Work through the installer wizard.

Good to know: These warnings appear for any new, unsigned app and don't mean anything is wrong. On a managed PC, IT may need to approve the installer.

User Guide: 2.4 Running the installer →
EveryoneAllow TASc6 through the Windows Firewall
  1. When Windows shows “Windows Defender Firewall has blocked some features of this app” (naming Node.js), tick Private networks, plus Public if your site network is set to Public.
  2. Click Allow access.
  3. If you missed it: Windows Security → Firewall & network protection → Allow an app, then Change settings.
  4. Find Node.js (or Allow another app and browse to node\node.exe in the TASc6 install folder), tick Private and Public, click OK.

Good to know: If you skip this, TASc6 works on the host but nobody else on site can connect.

User Guide: 2.5 Allowing TASc6 through the Windows Firewall →
EveryoneStart TASc6 and activate your licence
  1. Look for the TASc6 icon in the system tray near the clock. Right-click for Start, Stop and Open in browser.
  2. On the host machine open http://localhost:3000 to sign in.
  3. When ready to buy, open http://localhost:3000/activate and note your installation ID.
  4. Use that ID on the licence page to get your key, then paste the key into the same /activate page.

Good to know: The 14-day trial is fully functional. Activating unlocks a full year. Leave the host machine switched on.

User Guide: 2.7 Activating your licence →
EveryoneConnect desktops and tablets to your site
  1. Give the host machine a fixed address (static IP or a DHCP reservation).
  2. On each office desktop, open a browser to that address and sign in.
  3. Join each Shunter tablet to the depot Wi-Fi, open the same address, sign in with the Shunter account and mount it in the tug cab.
  4. Drive a tug around the whole depot with a tablet running to find any Wi-Fi dead spots before go-live.

Good to know: A dedicated VLAN and external-rated access points keep Shunter screens reliable.

User Guide: 3.3 Step by step →
EveryoneReset a forgotten password
  1. Ask your site Admin. There is no self-service reset.
  2. Admin opens Users and edits your account.
  3. Admin sets a new password and tells you.
User Guide: 14.4 Forgotten password →
AdminAdd a site
  1. Open the Sites tab and add a site.
  2. Enter a site code and a name.
  3. Save.

Good to know: The site code can't be changed later because trailers, bays and users refer to it. Only the name and default haulier can be edited.

User Guide: 5.2 Sites →
AdminSet a site's default haulier
  1. Open Sites and edit the site.
  2. Enter the Default Haulier and save.
  3. Security's inbound and outbound screens now pre-fill the haulier for that site.

Good to know: It's only a starting value. Security can type over it for any load.

User Guide: 5.2 Sites →
AdminAdd trailer types and configurations
  1. Open the Trailer Types tab, add a type (for example “13.6m Curtainsider”) and save.
  2. Open Configurations and add configurations the same way.
  3. Edit or delete either from the same tabs.

Good to know: Types and configurations are used for planning and bay or delivery restrictions.

User Guide: 5.3 Trailer Types & Configurations →
AdminAdd, edit or delete a trailer
  1. Open the Trailers tab.
  2. Add a trailer with its number, site and type, or edit an existing one's type and configuration.
  3. To remove one, delete it.

Good to know: Deleting marks a trailer inactive rather than erasing it, because move history and gate logs still refer to it.

User Guide: 5.4 Trailers →
AdminAdd trucks and drivers
  1. Open the Trucks tab and add the registration and home site.
  2. Open Drivers and add the name, phone, licence number and home site.
  3. Edit in place or remove as needed.
User Guide: 5.5 Trucks & Drivers →
AdminAdd or edit a bay
  1. Open the Bays tab.
  2. Edit a bay to change its area, grid position, status and display order.
  3. For de-kit bays, type the area as DEKIT, spelled the same on every bay.

Good to know: Area is free text. Loader, Dekit and Shunter all recognise DEKIT, ignoring capitals. A bay's site and number are fixed once created.

User Guide: 5.6 Bays & Bay Restrictions →
AdminRestrict which trailers can use certain bays
  1. Open Bay Restrictions.
  2. Add a restriction for a range of bays and choose which trailer types are allowed.
  3. Optionally filter by trailer number prefix.
  4. Deactivate a restriction to switch it off without deleting it.
User Guide: 5.6 Bays & Bay Restrictions →
AdminCreate, edit or deactivate a user

  2. Set a starting password and pass it on.
  3. To change a role, site, active status or password, edit the user.
  4. To stop someone signing in, set them inactive.

Good to know: Usernames can't be changed once created.

User Guide: 5.7 Users →

  1. Open the Backups tab.
  2. Set the backup folder and a retention period.
  3. Set the weekly backup's own retention.
  4. Check the last and next run times shown.

  1. Open Delivery Sites.
  2. Add a site with a number and name.
  3. Search, edit or deactivate sites here later.
User Guide: 6.1 Delivery Sites →
PlannerAdd a restriction to a delivery site
  1. Open Restrictions and add a label such as “No articulated vehicles”.
  2. Choose which trailer types are still allowed despite it.
  3. Attach it to the delivery site. A site can carry several restrictions.

Good to know: Deactivate rather than delete if you may need it again.

  1. Open Route Allocation and pick the date.
  2. Click New Route to get the next free number (numbers reset to 001 daily).

User Guide: 6.3 Route Allocation →
PlannerComplete or reopen a route
  1. Open the route in Route Allocation.
  2. Mark it Completed once it has run.
  3. Use Reopen if it needs changing after the fact.
User Guide: 6.3 Route Allocation →
LoaderAllocate an empty trailer to a bay
  1. Find the trailer under Empty available in the Available Trailers panel.
  2. Drag its card onto a bay.
  3. Enter the route number, or leave it blank to place it with no route yet.

Good to know: A Shunter will then confirm it as docked.

User Guide: 7.2 Allocating a trailer →
LoaderAllocate a trailer that still has stock on it
  1. Drag the Frozen, Chill, Ambient, Xdock or Mixed trailer onto a bay.
  2. When asked “Reload it now?”, choose Yes to assign a route number as normal, or No to place it with no route so it's unloaded first.

Good to know: Only Loader can allocate trailers still carrying this stock.

User Guide: 7.2 Allocating a trailer →
LoaderSend a Dekit or Returns trailer to a Dekit bay
  1. Find the trailer under Dekit or Return delivery.
  2. Drag it onto a Dekit-area bay. No route number is asked for.
  3. Dekit takes it from there.

Good to know: The system refuses these trailers on any other bay.

User Guide: 7.1 Available Trailers →
LoaderComplete a load
  1. Once loading is finished, click Complete on the trailer's tile.
  2. The trailer becomes ready for Dispatch to assign a driver and truck.
User Guide: 7.3 Once a trailer is in a bay →
LoaderMove a trailer or park it up
  1. Click Move To, pick a destination bay and a Shunter carries it out.
  2. Or click Park up to have a Shunter clear it from the bay and leave it idle and available.
  3. A trailer Dekit has just emptied shows Move To and Park up instead of Complete.
User Guide: 7.3 Once a trailer is in a bay →
DekitProcess a trailer
  1. Check your list: Dekit, then Return delivery, then Empty.
  2. Drag the trailer onto a Dekit bay.
  3. Once it is physically emptied, click Complete. This clears its stock tag but leaves it in the bay.
  4. Loader then decides: reuse it on the spot (Move To) or have a Shunter park it up.

Good to know: Empty trailers appear too, so you can load packaging or pallets for another site.

User Guide: 8.2 Processing a trailer →
ShunterConfirm a trailer is docked
  1. Watch your depot map for a tile showing Docked.
  2. Put the trailer in that bay.
  3. Tap Docked once.

DispatchAssign a driver and truck
  1. Select the loaded trailer.
  2. Pick a truck. You can do this ahead of time on its own.
  3. To add a driver, enter their name. A truck must be assigned at the same time if there isn't one.
  4. Save.

Good to know: A driver can't be assigned without a truck, because Security's gate screen refuses to log out a trailer in that state.

User Guide: 10.1 Assigning a driver and truck →
DispatchReview recent assignments
  1. Scroll below the assignment list to the rolling 24-hour window.
  2. Check trailer, route, driver, truck and assignment time.
User Guide: 10.2 Driver assigned — last 24 hours →

  1. Choose a load from “Ready for dispatch”. Trailer, driver and truck fill in.
  2. Visually check it's the right vehicle. The trailer number stays editable.
  3. Confirm the haulier, then log it out.

Good to know: A trailer with a driver but no truck can't be logged out. Ask Dispatch to fix it.

User Guide: 11.1 Outbound →
SecurityLog a trailer back in
  1. Pick from “Expected back”, or type the number if a driver swapped trailers en route.
  2. Tick what it's carrying: Dekit, Shop return, Frozen, Chill, Ambient, Xdock or Empty.
  3. Confirm the haulier and log it in.

  1. Find the vehicle in Trailers or Trucks.
  2. Mark it VOR. For a truck you can add a reason.
